BRUNS & BACHÉ

BRUNS & BACHÉ is a Los Angeles based 9-piece Retro-Soul band named after their founder, drummer-bandleader-producer Jason Lee BRUNS [BRuhns] and frontman-vocalist-songwriter Kevín BACHÉ [bah-SHAY] The band features LA’s A-list session players who have played with Beck, Ziggy Marley, Phil Collins, Michael Bublé, and Arturo Sandoval – meet the band.

Powerful rock-like lead vocals, tight horns, and soulful backing vocals create a vintage sound that music critics liken to “a modern-day Chicago/Blood Sweat & Tears”.  BRUNS & BACHÉ songs are known for catchy melodies, virtuosic solos, and driving energy that brings audiences to their feet throughout live shows.

BRUNS & BACHÉ’s past two albums were Top-10 charting (College Music Journal, Roots Music Report) airing on 300+ radio stations nationwide. Multiple songs from the “Cherry Avenue” album received weekly spins on 300+ stations nationwide, including L.A.’s KKJZ 88.1FM.

This summer they released a triple vinyl boxset with illustration by Curl Merlo: 1. All original EP (12″ blue vinyl), 2. Cuban inspired rock tribute EP feat. Andy Garcia (12″ orange vinyl), and 3.  Two holiday singles (7″ red vinyl) – listen now.

The band is performing to sold-out audiences at Southern California’s top venues, including Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and the Catalina Club (Sunset Strip, Hollywood, CA). In 2019 they completed their second multi-city Japan Tour.  Get tickets to a show.

BRUNS

Originally from a small town in South-West, Ohio – founder, drummer and producer of BRUNS & BACHÉ – Jason Lee Bruns’ passion for drumming took him from buying his first drum set with paper route earnings in 6th grade; to section leader of his high school drum line; to Miami University on a full music scholarship; and to USC’s Jazz Studies program.

Though Bruns has been based in Los Angeles he’s often traveling the globe in search of new rhythmic inspiration. Bruns draws on these musical experiences to write, arrange, and create drum parts for BRUNS & BACHÉ.

He’s self-produced twelve albums – including two BRUNS & BACHÉ recordings that charted in the top-10 (Root Music Report and College Music Journal). He holds a B.M. degree in Classical Percussion and M.M. degrees in Jazz Studies (USC) and Music Production (Berklee).

Notable projects include Beck’s Sound & Vision (session percussionist), Game of Thrones (drummer for season 3 commercial), Louis Price (house band), and Liane Carroll (house band). Bruns is the founder and director of the Campbell Hall World Music and Recording Arts programs, is an Avid Certified Instructor (ACI), and has been a voting member of the Grammy Awards since 2015.

BACHÉ

Originally from Springville, UT — lead singer, composer, and co-arranger of BRUNS & BACHÉ — Kevin Baché [pronounced “Bah-SHAY”] grew up in musical family that traveled to different cities playing and singing for audiences of all types since the age of five.

BACHÉ spent his early years playing the trumpet and decided during college to focus solely on singing as his primary voice of expression. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s in Music (Berklee) and a Master’s in Jazz Studies (USC), where he and BRUNS had initially collaborated on a recital for school.

Being know in ‘the biz’  for his powerful rock-like vocals with the sensibility and control of a jazz singer, as well as incredible intonation,  BACHÉ has sung vocals for hundreds of projects including major artists David Bowie, Wayne Shorter, and a Capitol Records recording session with Steve Miller.

BACHÉ currently resided in Newport Beach, CA with his wife and two kids where he is the Visual & Performing Art department director at a private college prep school.
